Suggested Au Pair Rates

Au Pair Select Plcaement fees and Au Pair Remuneration Guidelines

The suggested hourly rates are as follows:

  • 0-12 hrs worked per week R60-80/ hr
  • 13-20 hrs worked per week R50-60/ hr
  • 21-31 hrs worked per week R50/ hr
  • 32 hrs or more per week R45/ hr

The suggested monthly salaries are as follows:

  • Half day positions: R3000-R7000 p/m (2-5.5 hours)
  • Full day positions: R7000-R10 000 p/m (6-10 hours)

The above rates are not inclusive of travel, which is usually reimbursed at AA rates. Usually the family decides to include a travel allowance into the monthly salary but due to fluctuating petrol prices we suggest you reimburse the Au Pair at AA rates.

Please Note that the above is a guideline only. The salary is entirely at your discretion. Au Pairs generally earn between R50 – R80 /hour but many factors can be taken into account (Au Pair’s age, experience, qualifications etc) when making your decision. Over time work should be reimbursed at 1.5 x the hourly rate. Sundays & Public Holidays should be reimbursed at double the hourly rate.

Au Pair Select Placement Fee’s

Administration fee

A registration fee will not be charged as there is no guarantee of us finding you a suitable au pair. Should however a client interview girls and use our services and choose not employ someone from au pair select then an administration fee of R300 will be charged. Au Pair Select offers 2 types of placement options, permanent or temporary placements

Permanent Placements

This option is suitable for families who are certain of the hours they require an Au Pair. An upfront once-off placement fee applies to this placement. Au Pair Select placement fee: Half day placements: a fee of R3200 is payable Full day placements: a fee of R4400 is payable, live in placements:R6000.

Temporary Placements

Should you require an Au Pair for 1 month or less, we charge an upfront placement fee of R1500 for that period. Jobs such as: Baby-sitting that is once off- R500. Baby-sitting that is on a permanent basis-R1000. Tutoring- R1500. Lifting- R1500

Au Pair Select requires fees are paid within 7 days from the date of invoice directly into our bank account. Please use your Surname as a reference.
